A storm is defined as any set of playoff possibilities in which the first two tiebreakers (head-to-head and most overall wins) are insufficient to decide the rank of the playoff teams from a region.
A storm is identified by the set of teams involved (including entangled teams—those who cannot earn the highest place in the tiebreak, but whose place is affected by which team does—indicated in italics) and by the highest place involved. Other placements do not affect the determination of whether two sets of possibilities represent the same storm or different ones.
A given set of results may create two storms, one for first place and another for fourth (more possibilities exist in Division II leagues that qualify five or six teams; this was possible in AA East after Week 8, but Week 9 results ended that potential).
The list of possible storms after Week 8 is numbered; names are not assigned unless the storm remains possible following the games of Week 9. Where a storm was possible after Week 9 but not after Week 10, the storm is listed as “averted”.
Names follow the list of names used for tropical cyclones in the vicinity of Australia, continuing from one year to the next. The first name used in 2026 will be Nora (from list D).
Storms are ordered by the following criteria:
The tables below indicate this information for each possible storm, as well as the teams that must win in Weeks 10 and 11 for the storm to “make landfall”. If there are multiple rows of possibilities for a storm, it comes to pass if all of the games on any one row have the indicated results.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alessia | 5 | Averted | ||

All storms were averted during Week 9.

| Name | Region | Place | Teams | Week 11 Winners Needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Quincey | 5 | Third | Centennial, Hillsboro, James Lawson | Hillsboro, Lawrence County |
| Raquel | 6 | Averted | ||
The non-region opponents of the three teams in Quincey are as follows:
| Centennial Cougars | Antioch | Fairview | Green Hill | Stewarts Creek | Franklin | no-tenth | 3-4 |
| Hillsboro Burros | Kenwood | Lebanon | Glencliff | John Overton | Maplewood | no-tenth | 2 |
| James Lawson Lightning | Brentwood Academy | Lawrence County | Wilson Central | Creek Wood | Northeast | no-tenth | 3 |
If Stewarts Creek beats Smyrna to reach .500, then Centennial prevails outright. If not, then Centennial prevails anyway, by head-to-head over James Lawson. Thus, Centennial finishes third, and James Lawson fourth by head-to-head over Hillsboro.
| Name | Region | Place | Teams | Week 11 Winners Needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stan | 1 | First | Dobyns-Bennett, Jefferson County, Science Hill | Jefferson County, Science Hill |
| Tatiana | 1 | Second | Jefferson County, Science Hill, West Ridge | Dobyns-Bennett, West Ridge |
| Uriah | 5 | Averted | ||
| Yvette | 6 | Averted | ||
| Anthony | 6 | |||
| Blanche | 6 | |||
| Caleb | 6 | |||
The non-region opponents of the teams in Stan and Tatiana are as follows:
| Dobyns-Bennett Indians | Knoxville Central | Gate City | Oak Ridge | Asheville | Bearden | Claiborne | 3-4 |
| Jefferson County Patriots | Powell | Sevier County | Cocke County | Daniel Boone | Morristown West | Mount Juliet | 2 |
| Science Hill Hilltoppers | Elizabethton | Tennessee High | Maryville | Cocke County | Bearden | Morristown West | 3 |
| West Ridge Wolves | Elizabethton | Tennessee High | Hardin Valley | David Crockett | Daniel Boone | Morristown West | 2-3 |
In Stan (which excludes West Ridge), an Asheville win would mean that Dobyns-Bennett prevails outright; Jefferson County is then second and Science Hill third. If not, then Science Hill prevails on head-to-head over Dobyns-Bennett, who finishes second and Jefferson County third.
In Tatiana (which excludes Dobyns-Bennett), a Hardin Valley loss would mean Science Hill prevails outright; if Hardin Valley wins, then Science Hill prevails anyway on head-to-head over West Ridge. Either way, Science Hill is second, West Ridge third, and Jefferson County fourth.
